10 May 202120 minutes to read

SfCellGrid calculation engine offers automated calculation over a formula, expression. SfCellGrid`s calculation engine is preloaded with 409 formulas covering a broad range of business functions.

## Adding Formula into cell

To add formulas into a cell programmatically, set the `CellType`

as “FormulaCell” and enter the formula in the `CellValue`

property preceded with “=” sign.

```
cellGrid.Model[4, 4].CellType = "FormulaCell";
cellGrid.Model[4, 4].CellValue = "=Sum(A1:A2)";
```

NOTE

If you are inserting the formula through button click event, then you need to invalidate that cell to update the view.
