Performance Improvements

The performance of the Blazor Diagram component has been significantly improved for dragging operations involving large numbers of annotated nodes and complex swimlane diagrams. These optimizations reduce interaction time and provide a smoother user experience. The following measurements were captured using a US-hosted sample application.

Features

Runtime Template Refresh

  • FB21954 - The runtime template refresh feature enables template-based node content in the Diagram component to be refreshed dynamically after the underlying content, data, or rendering logic changes.
  • Users can refresh a specific node, multiple nodes, or all applicable template nodes without recreating the diagram.
  • The refresh preserves the existing node model, geometry, selection state, and user interactions.

Optional Swimlane Phases

  • FB74465 - Swimlanes can now be created and maintained without phases. Users can add the first phase to a zero-phase swimlane or remove the final remaining phase at runtime.
  • Transitions between zero-phase and phased swimlanes preserve the swimlane, lanes, contained diagram elements, and existing interactions.
  • The feature supports horizontal and vertical orientations, along with undo and redo operations.

MAUI

The .NET MAUI Diagram control is a cross-platform graphical library for creating interactive diagramming applications. It enables developers to visualize processes, relationships, and workflows through customizable nodes and connectors, delivering a consistent experience across Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS.
